 KLETZEL BENJAMIN Was born in 1932 in small town of Pervomaysk (Ukraine). Then the Kletzels evacuated to Tashkent. He studied at Art college, and after that gratuated from Art Department of Tashkent Theatre and Art Institute. Then he moved to Samara, there he lived for many years, gave classes at Art School and taught architectural students at the Chair of Drawing.
He immigrated to Israel in 1990 and lives and works in Jerusalem. During 17 years of Israeli life Benjiamin Kletzel took part in a great many of solo exhibitions in Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, Russia and USA. His works can be found in museums, galleries and private collections in Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Russia and South Africa.
Painter held several honorable titles and academic ranks: The Member of the USSA artist´s Union, assistant professor of Samara Institute and other. But he considers the title of a "Jerusalem artist" as the most significant. Here he found his "ego", his subject and his characters. He is prize winner "Shalom" and "Olives Tree" in Jerusalem. He says: "My desting brought me to Jerusalem, and I am grateful for this gift". Benjamin Kletzel works in his studio every day, and every day he makes discoveries.
